Cerebral Palsy Physiotherapy

Understanding Cerebral Palsy

Cerebral Palsy (CP) is a group of disorders that affect movement, muscle tone, and posture. It is caused by damage to the developing brain, usually before birth. At Neuro Spine Solution, our goal is not just to treat the symptoms, but to help children and adults with CP maximize their independence and participate fully in daily activities.

Our rehabilitation program is grounded in the principles of Neuro-Developmental Treatment (NDT) and motor learning. We focus on managing spasticity (stiff muscles), improving balance, preventing deformities, and teaching functional skills like sitting, standing, and walking.

Our Treatment Focus

We create individualized care plans that grow with the patient:

Gross Motor Skills:

Improving rolling, sitting, crawling, and walking.

Spasticity Management:

Stretching and positioning to reduce muscle stiffness.

Balance & Coordination:

Enhancing stability to prevent falls and improve safety.

Functional Independence:

Training for daily tasks like dressing and transferring.

Common Questions

Answers to your concerns about Cerebral Palsy rehabilitation.

Cerebral Palsy is a lifelong condition, and there is no "cure" in the traditional sense. However, physiotherapy is the standard of care for management. It significantly improves a child's quality of life by maximizing their mobility, preventing pain, and fostering independence.

The sooner, the better. Early intervention (often starting in infancy) takes advantage of the brain's "neuroplasticity"—its ability to adapt and rewire. Early therapy can prevent bad movement habits from forming and keep muscles flexible.

Yes. While often associated with children, adults with CP face unique challenges like premature aging, pain, and fatigue. Our adult CP program focuses on pain management, maintaining mobility, and energy conservation.

Therapy uses sustained stretching, positioning, splinting, and weight-bearing exercises to lengthen tight muscles. This reduces the stiffness associated with spasticity, making movement easier and more fluid.
